Assistant Plant Operator
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the Processing Plant operates efficiently and safely.
- Operates the Plant for their individual shift under the direction of the Lead Operator/Plant. Manager in accordance with BBD and GGP Operating Procedures and Policies.
- Performs basic plant equipment maintenance such as: pump and pipe replacements, replenishment of production equipment filters and expendable supplies.
- Handle hazardous materials under the direct supervision of the Lead Operator in strict accordance with company safety procedures.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as directed by the Lead Operator such as: cleaning, painting, minor equipment repairs, and building maintenance.
- Follow strict safety and quality control measures.
- Take inventory and report the data to the Lead Operator.
- Assist with the transfer of product from tote to tank.
- Record and file lab results, hourly rounds, and all other mandatory records keeping paperwork.
Knowlege, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience working with machinery and/or chemicals.
- Desire to work in a highly quality-controlled environment.
- Safety conscious.
- Computer knowledge, including word processing and internet.
- Certification demonstrating the ability to drive a forklift is a preference.
- Ability to show up on time for their scheduled shift.
- Some mechanical background including the ability to recognize signs of operation failure.
- Ability to perform strenuous work and lift up to 50-75lbs.
- Ability to learn advanced equipment operating skills such as operating lab equipment, fork lift, and Class B vehicles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
